Questions?
Why choose a destination wedding instead of a local wedding?
Destination weddings often allow couples to host a more intimate celebration while offering an unforgettable experience for their guests. Many couples love the built-in vacation, simplified planning, and the ability to combine their wedding and honeymoon in one beautiful location.
Where are the most popular destination wedding locations?
Mexico and the Caribbean are the most popular choices due to ease of travel, variety of resorts, and inclusive wedding packages. Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico consistently offer the best value and guest friendly options. Europe is also a beautiful option for couples seeking something more unique.
How far in advance should we start planning?
Most couples begin planning 12 to 18 months in advance. This allows the best selection of dates, resorts, and pricing. Shorter timelines are possible depending on flexibility and destination.
How much does a destination wedding cost?
Costs vary based on location, resort, and guest count. Many destination weddings start around a few thousand dollars for the wedding package, with additional costs depending on décor, photography, and guest events. Many resorts also offer complimentary or discounted wedding packages when minimum room nights are met.
Do our guests pay for their own travel?
Yes. Guests typically pay for their own flights and accommodations. Destination weddings often feel more affordable to guests than traditional weddings because travel replaces gifts and many guests enjoy the vacation aspect.
Will our guests be required to stay at the same resort?
In most cases, at least 80% of guests need to stay on site. Staying at the wedding resort ensures access to all wedding events and helps unlock group perks for the couple. Some resorts allow off site guests for an additional fee.
What is included in a destination wedding package?
Packages typically include a ceremony venue, basic décor, bouquet and boutonniere, officiant for symbolic ceremonies, cake, and a private reception. Each resort varies, and we help you compare what is included and what can be customized.
Is a legal or symbolic ceremony better?
Most couples choose a symbolic ceremony because it is easier and requires less paperwork. A legal marriage can still be completed at home before or after the trip. Legal ceremonies abroad are possible but come with additional requirements.
